Uponor North America celebrated the grand opening of its newly constructed Uponor Experience Center located at its regional headquarters in Apple Valley, Minnesota in September.
Academy courses include classroom lectures and a hands-on laboratory designed to educate HVAC professionals about LG’s HVAC products, including technical training on installation and service.
METUS plans to use the facility to generate 60 distribution center jobs and empower HVAC businesses with the training and support needed to sell, install and service all-climate heat pumps.

A. O. Smith announced a new series of training programs as a result of high-demand for its A. O. Smith University educational sessions. The company has two state-of-the-art training facilities, located in Ashland City and Johnson City, Tennessee, which held primarily virtual training sessions in 2020 with over 100,000 combined class attendances. Both facilities are utilized to train technicians, contractors and product representatives on a variety of products and topics.
The training facility, designed for the plumbing industry, will generate all energy required to support the operation of the building on site through the incorporation of several renewable energy technologies.
BNP Media Plumbing Group’s Nicole Krawcke sat down with Mike Licastro, Xylem’s training and education manager, commercial building services and HVAC, to chat about the renovation of the iconic industry training facility and what it now offers its customers.
Since its inception in 1954, more than 62,000 engineers, contractors and other hydronic HVAC and plumbing professionals have been educated at the Little Red Schoolhouse.
